From $0 to $1M

Starting from today (Apr 21, 2025): I will document my process from $0 to making $1M over two years. It means by Apr 21, 2027, I will have cumulative income/assets/equity of 1 Million Dollars. I will be as transparent as possible. My update will be delivered here once a month

1/ Apr 21, 2025 I believe, so far as I know, there are three sorts of income: Sweatshop Money, Product Money, & Asset Money.

For Sweatshop Money, you earn income through your workload. Let's say Investment Banking type of shit, which is almost the highest paying non-technical sweatshop job you'd get straight outta college. You have to spend around 80+ hours on a weekly basis over the entire year to earn 100k-200k for analysts depends on different shops. It means over two years you will maximumly make 500k if you have insane bonus, but this only finishes half of the goal $1M.

That said, I will ditch (well considering im only a sophomore I dont really have choice for FT job anyway) this type of income.

Proceeding to Product Money, it has widest spectrum of income range: from $10/day all the way to Billions, depending on how lucrative/how large potential your ideas are/have and how effective you iterate. That being said, I wanna start from digging ideas from my personal & surrounding demand and iterate fast as hell to see if I can find PMF.

I have an idea for now: Me and my friends, during recruiting season for IBD, are really struggling for cultivating market sense and stay on top of the market every day. We really want a one-clicker website for that day's TMT market summary+Analysis+Banking Pipeline. So, I will build a bot exactly meeting our demand, and later develop to an AI Agent for Trad-Fi (Buyside/Sellside) that help you execute financial modelling on real time market. Another thing is I can build products of my portfolio for Agentic AI clients on Upwork. This will not only help the others with their projects but also help me practicing my product delivery.

Aight, that's for product money. Now we are talking about Final Big Brother, Asset Money. It is almost the greatest longevity+strongest reward for accumulating wealth. I would not believe 2 years is enough for any individuals in any industries to accumulate huge Asset money. The only exception is Web 3, where protocols' TVL and rug and meme coins changing EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Therefore, I will DMOR and try my best to navigate the alpha and invest.

Now, I know some people might say i'm too ambitious, but I am religious about compounding effect. This means I will start deploying long term assets (e.g. $BTC) and long term product/projects (XR/VR Tech Startup) which will take relatively longer time to actually be lucrative because of windows of technologies (you can see Andrew Chen’s post about Quitting whatever you are doing and do AI startup.)

Anyway it is a long post! I am very optimistic about this goal because I just believe in myself. Let's wait and see.
